Be's figures and nudes

German-born currently lives and works in Los Angeles.artistheadshot_for_mosaicglobe.JPG

My work is either one of three categories most of the time: figurative/nudes, abstract or animals (not realistic ones, more like childrens art).

I like to be inspired by my surroundings, and living in LA exposes me to a variety of stimuli. My abstract pieces are generally more calm and reflective, whereas my like for the human form shows the duality of life, birth and death, beauty vs. shocking images, and anger vs. forgiveness.

I often "see" my next painting as a mental image when drifting off to sleep, and the biggest challenge is to write the idea down then and there, otherwise it is probably lost.

Painting has been a major part in my life since I was approx. 15. Two years later I left home (Germany) for New York to see if I could make it on my own. To cover expenses resorted entirely to modelling and stopped painting for several years. Now with a very different perspective on life and what truly matters I am back doing what I love most.
